FREMONT -- The United Way of Sandusky County had a first-ever campaign event, Bowling for United Way Dollars, Saturday at Plaza Lanes.
Area residents who came to support the United Way enjoyed an afternoon of bowling, food, prizes, raffles and a variety of arcade games.
A special thank you was given to Plaza Lanes for their support and donations toward this event.
Participating teams included lane sponsors Fremont Federal Credit Union, North Central ESC, United Way Board, WSOS Seniors, Old Fort Bank, the Optimist Club, and the Alex Thatcher Birthday Party Team.
The United Way plays an important role in helping people whose lives are affected by one or more of its member agencies. The United Way's 2010 campaign goal is $850,000, and reaching that goal will allow Member Agencies to continue to provide much needed services. Last year, United Way donations directly assisted approximately 52 percent of Sandusky County residents.
