Last Tuesday evening (May 5, 2015) the United Way of Sandusky County celebrated the successful completion of their 2014 Campaign during their Annual Awards Celebration Banquet held at the Wilson Nature Center in Lindsey. The 2014 United Way Campaign raised $694,956.00. This was $14,740.44 more than was raised the previous year.
The annual campaign begins each summer with the Pacesetter companies leading the way. The 2014 Pacesetters were Crown Battery, Fremont Federal Credit Union, Green Bay Packaging, Style Crest, ProMedica Memorial Hospital, Mosser Construction, Terra State Community College, and Whirlpool Corporation – Clyde. The extraordinary volunteers in these local companies along with Daryl and Cate Knipp, who were this year’s campaign chairs, helped make the 2014 campaign the strongest United Way have seen in years. During the banquet, Daryl Knipp presented the following awards to those individuals and businesses that contributed to the Campaign’s success.
Friends of United Way went to businesses that have shown generous corporate support of $5,000 or more.
Award of Excellence went to those businesses with 100% employee participation during the United Way campaign.
Outstanding School Employee Campaign Award was given to the school that showed the most outstanding gain over the previous year’s level of giving.
